The Sage Gateshead, on the banks of the River Tyne in North East England, is an iconic and popular building. Although the prime market for the centre is music and entertainment, including a very strong educational element, successful conferences have been held there since it opened in 2003, including recently the Liberal Democrats Spring conference 2012.
The Right Solution worked on the original business plan and design development with the aim of ensuring a multi purpose centre was developed. During 2009 and 2010 we worked extensively on plans for an extension which would expand the capacity of the building for conferences. Although the reductions in public sector funding are now requiring new and innovative approaches to how this may be funded, it is still actively being explored. So, if you haven’t been able to hold your conference there previously due to it not being large enough or not having enough exhibition space, there is still hope that this may happen in future.
We will let you know once we hear more.
