At the recent Summer Summit for meetings industry associations one of the liveliest debates was about venues and hotels charging for WiFi and Internet access. It really is time that venues and hotels stopped charging for WiFi. It is comparable to the telephone charges in hotels years ago, isn’t it? It is clearly an obvious way that hotels and venues are able to increase the price they charge you and customers feel ripped off. Particularly when you can walk into most coffee bars and many towns and use WiFi free.

So come on venues, be more subtle,  package the pricing so we don’t feel we are being charged extra and include Wi Fi and we will all be happier! We know there are times when heavy usage will require extra charges but not everyday use. You will begin to lose business if you do not listen to your customers!
