The EICC is one of the very few convention centres to have achieved the ISO 14000 certification and is a leader in the industry on “green” meetings. That leadership will be maintained in the new extension – due to open in early 2013 – by ensuring that energy usage is kept to a minimum. Part of this commitment is shown by the use of LED lighting in many areas of the extension. In particular, a feature video wall is being planned, using LED tiles, over two stories of the new building.
This cutting edge technology was inspected on a recent factory visit by the EICC team, including Eric Rymer of The Right Solution, to Insta, a leading electronic lighting manufacturer in Luedenscheid in Germany. The LED tiles can be arranged in many different formats to give a ”screen” of any size that’s required. Video, graphics, animations and just straightforward lighting effects can be shown and being LED, it is perfectly visible in daylight conditions.
This is just another example of the innovative thinking that is going into the design of the EICC’s new facilities, that complements the existing building’s style and quality and at the same time, ensuring that sustainability is at the forefront of design.
The Right Solution are assisting the EICC team to create a new facility that meets the needs of the market today and well into the future. Having worked on the original building, which opened in 1995, The Right Solution is proud to be involved with this latest development.
